TerraCirca is a place for people of all ages to explore bold ideas, support visionary projects, and respond to the nature and climate crisis.
TerraCirca comes from the Latin words terra (earth) and circa (around/about). Our name reflects our intention: to remember how to live in tune with Earth and rediscover our place as part of the living world.
Are you burned out by the news? Anxious about climate change? worried about ecological depletion? Aware of a lack of leadership in response? Searching for connection? To be an active citizen? Looking to discover ways of living and working here in these times of change and people to do it with?
We host in-person talks, workshops, nature-connected practices, coaching, and support collaborative action.
We are rooted in South and South West England, in landscapes shaped by sea, stone, and story. From coastal cliffs to wooded valleys and open moorland, our
region has shaped how we live, what we value, and how we can respond in this time of challenge and change.
A hearth. Place of warmth, reflection, and co-creation in a time of unraveling. A rooted space to slow down, share meals, read books, walk in good company, and stay connected when so much is pulling us apart.
Space for emergence. In-person talks, workshops, and community conversations that spark creativity, collaboration, and shared response. Here, people share their work, test ideas, and meet each other in honest dialogue.
A gathering. Find supportive community with space for coaching and group circles rooted in eco-psychology. Together we make sense of our work, transitions, and choices. Nature-therapy walks offer time to explore and understand this place more deeply.
We are living through a time of profound transformation. Climate change, ecological depletion, and political dysfunction are not separate crises but threads of the same unraveling, woven into the systems and stories we have inherited.
Some call it a polycrisis, others call it a mess. Business as usual is not working, and one-size-fits-all solutions are failing us.
At TerraCirca, we bring together a community to learn and work with with. People who want to reconnect with the land, ecology, and history of where we live, and to remember who we are as the foundation for how we respond today.
Our (bio)regions are shaped by deep time. From the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast with 185 million years of Earth’s story, to the chalk downs of Dorset, the wetlands of Somerset, the granite highlands of Dartmoor and Bodmin, and the oak and birch of the Atlantic rainforest, these places have long sustained life.
People have always been part of this story. From the Neolithic communities who first farmed and shaped this land, to the Celtic Durotriges who lived across much of Dorset, and the kingdom of Dumnonia with craft and seafaring, through the Romans, smugglers, piracy, and war. For thousands of years we have been adapting to the rhythm of change.
TerraCirca exists to help ignite the next chapter of this story, one where our community can meet the challenges of our time.
As Bayo Akomolafe reminds us “The times are urgent; let us slow down.”
Slowing down does not mean standing still but acting from presence rather than panic. We believe inner and outer transformation grow together. Clarity comes through action. We do not need perfected inner worlds to begin. In the mess of it, what matters most is to start. We are a place to start.
TerraCirca is a not-for-profit. Membership and ticket sales support costs. Our membership model helps keep the space inclusive, affordable, and alive.
